At Woodland, we are committed to a journey of continuous learning and improvement through the American Montessori Society's Pathway of Continuous School Improvement. This framework helps Montessori schools like ours evaluate and enhance the quality of our programs over time.
The Pathway consists of four stages, each representing a different level of commitment and growth in implementing Montessori principles. Schools move through these stages by focusing on the five core components of Montessori education:
Prepared Environment – A classroom designed to encourage independence and self-directed learning.
Montessori Materials – Hands-on tools that help children explore and discover concepts in a meaningful way.
Montessori Teachers – Educators trained to guide students in their learning, fostering a supportive and nurturing environment.
Montessori Philosophy – A commitment to the core values of respect, independence, and holistic development for each child.
Ongoing Evaluation – Regular assessments to ensure we are meeting the needs of both the children and the program.
